Throw pillows are one of my very favorite home decor items. That is because there are an endless amount of sizes, colors, patterns, etc.
They are also so easy to switch out as often as you would like.
Throw pillows can add a level of coziness to your home that you never knew you needed.
This post is all about the best Amazon throw pillow covers and inserts.
I am OBSESSED with these throw pillow inserts and covers from Amazon. They are used in almost every project of mine and I always recommend them to anyone and everyone I know.
You can use these throw pillow covers and inserts in many spaces throughout your home such as a sofa, accent chair, bedroom, or bench.
What I love most about the throw pillow inserts, is that they come in literally any size imaginable. I also love how comfortable and shapeable these pillow inserts are.
Using throw pillow covers is the best because I love being able to switch out my throw pillow covers occasionally to change up the overall design a bit.
I recommend looking for throw pillow covers that have a zipper. Throw pillow covers that have a zipper are the easiest ones to use because you can take them off to wash them in the laundry or switch them out and store them.
I also do not find many of the throw pillows at stores such as Target, TJ Maxx, or HomeGoods to be very comfortable. Many are very stiff and are not shapeable.
You usually cannot take off the pillow covers that come on these pillows, which makes it very difficult to wash in your washing machine. Often times, they lose their shape and if there are detailed pieces on the cover like tassels, they do not wash up well.
This is why I think the Amazon pillow inserts and covers are the best. They are not only comfortable, but shapeable, washable, and easily storable.
Throw pillow covers are a much less expensive way to switch up your throw pillows. Instead of buying multiple throw pillows, you can use covers instead, which is also much easier to store than a bulky pillow.
Using throw pillow covers is great for holidays and seasons as well. If you’re someone who likes to decorate for the holidays or different seasons, throw pillow covers with a zipper are a game changer.
How to use the throw pillow insert and covers
1. Purchase Pillow Inserts That are 2″ Larger Than The Pillow Cover
A rule of thumb when it comes to purchasing the pillow covers and inserts is to buy the insert 2″ larger than the pillow cover so that the throw pillow appears larger and fuller. So, for example, if you have an 18×18 throw pillow cover, use a 20×20 pillow insert. This is one of the easiest and simplest hacks that I use all the time!
2. Fold The Throw Pillow Insert Into The Cover
You will want to fold the throw pillow insert in half and push it inside the throw pillow cover. I try to stick my hand inside and get all 4 corners placed properly so the pillow insert is evenly distributed inside the pillow cover.
3. Zip And Fluff
Then, I will zip up the pillow cover, fluff up the pillow insert, and adjust the shape as needed. Like I mentioned above, these pillows are very shapeable and easy to adjust.
4. Chop, Chop!
Finally, don’t forget that nice little pillow chop for a completed look!
