Curtains are one of those design details that can completely transform a room. When they’re done well, they soften the space, add texture, and instantly make a room feel more finished and elevated.
Over the years, I’ve searched high and low for curtain panels and hardware that feel beautiful, timeless, and high quality without being overly complicated. The pieces I’m sharing here are some of my favorite finds that I personally use in my own home and have also used in client spaces.
From light, airy curtains that softly filter natural light to velvet panels that create a cozy, light-blocking bedroom, these are pieces I consistently return to. They offer great sizing options, beautiful texture, and a polished look that makes styling windows much easier.
If you’re currently choosing curtains for your home, you may also find my guide on how to make curtains look expensive helpful. It walks through a few simple designer tips for choosing the right length, width, and placement so your window treatments look polished and intentional.
Favorite Curtains and Curtain Hardware
1. Curtain Rods
These curtain rods are the ones I use in my living room and have also used in multiple client homes. I love their simple, classic design because they work beautifully in so many different spaces without competing with the rest of the room. They feel sturdy, well-made, and give curtains a polished, finished look. Sometimes the simplest hardware ends up being the most timeless, and these rods are a perfect example of that.
2. Light Filtering Curtains
These light filtering curtains are the panels I use in my own living room, and they’re one of my favorite curtain finds. I have two panels on each side of the window, which helps create that full, elevated look designers love. They come in a wide variety of lengths, which is incredibly helpful because hanging curtains as close to the ceiling as possible instantly makes a room feel taller and more refined. The fabric softly filters natural light while still providing privacy, creating a beautiful, airy feel in the room. I have them in the Birch color, and I’ve also used them in different colors and sizes for several client projects.
3. Velvet Light Blocking Curtains
These velvet curtains are the ones I use in our bedroom, guest bedroom, and my office, and they are such a beautiful option when you want something a little more substantial. The velvet texture gives them a rich, high-end look, and the fabric is thick enough to block light, which makes them especially great for sleeping spaces. I have them in the Ivory color, and just like the light filtering panels, they come in a variety of lengths which makes it easier to hang them high and create that tailored look. When opened, they naturally create a soft pinch pleat effect that feels elegant without needing additional styling.
4. Curved Curtain Rods
These curved rods are the ones I use in our bedroom, guest bedroom, and office. I chose them because they extend further around the window, which helps block more light. This is something that’s especially nice in a bedroom. They also offer a little more privacy while still allowing light to filter through when the curtains are closed. I also like that they feel slightly different from a traditional rod. The subtle design detail of the curve gives them a unique touch while still keeping the overall look simple.
Finding curtains and curtain hardware that look beautiful, function well, and come in the right sizes can sometimes feel surprisingly difficult. These pieces are some of the best finds I’ve come across after a lot of searching, and they’re items I continue to use both in my own home and in client spaces.
If you’re in the process of styling your windows, these curtains and rods are a great place to start. They offer timeless style, thoughtful sizing options, and a polished look that helps a room feel more complete.
